Page Turners Book Club The Lion Women of Tehran

Page Turners Book Club The Lion Women of Tehran In-Person

Join us and discuss diverse reads by contemporary adult authors! This month we discuss The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali.

Page Turners Book Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm. This book club primarily reads contemporary adult fiction books by a diversity of authors. We currently meet in-person and via Zoom. Physical copies of the current title for discussion are available to check out at the Library's Front Desk. New members are always welcome!

In 1950s Tehran, two girls meet on the first day of school and share their ambitions for becoming “lion women.” They grow apart in high school, but meet again as adults as political turmoil in Iran builds to a breaking point. This book has been described as a “sweeping exploration of how profoundly we are shaped by those we meet when we are young, and the way love and courage transform our lives”.
